Our latest houseguest

Unfortunately, our babysitter, pictured in part here, has eight cats and is not in the market for a dog.

We're calling her Alaska. I know it's not terribly original, but that was the extent of our creative output the night we found her. We've searched high and low for her owners, but there were no tags, no microchip, nothing on Craigslist or other internet sites going back to January, and no flyers in the neighborhood. So now we're focused on finding her a new home. She and Thomas get along about as well as two angry wolverines, so keeping her is not really an option. I've made liberal use of the Dog Appeasing Pheromone spray in the last two days.

Do you charge room and board? She's kind'a cute. And my little Mason has been the perfect gentlemen to every person and every animal he's met in the last five weeks. Always welcoming and gentle, he is. Best of luck with Alaska.

Have you been to the local human society or a vet to see if Alaska has a chip inside as an identifier?

She's beautiful! I wish I was in the market for another dog, but, well, you know... three's company!

I don't think the Chihuahua could handle another one!

No microchip. That was the first thing we did. Then we blew a couple of hundred bucks on basic vet care (vaccinations, deworming, etc) to make sure our dogs didn't get anything unpleasant from her.

Tony, you definitely have a full crew already.

A real quick side note... it's nice to look out your front window and now see 3 feet of snow on the ground!!

DUH, I meant *NOT* see 3 feet of snow. Spellcheck doesn't catch stupid I guess.

If you looked out this morning, however, you'd see about an inch. Sigh. Hope it's gone by the afternoon.

Good luck with the dog, We had strays growing up. Get this my mom had a beagle then she found another beagle. 13 or so years later I had one of those Mop dogs then found another. Alaska is a cutie! She should be glad she found you to find her a home!

Take care
