Hear ye

Lewis has issued a protest about the dual uses of word verification and comment moderation. Like I said over at his place, I don't moderate, because I don't get very many nutjobs in the comments. But I do get spam. That said, I'm going to try and turn it off for awhile. I hate word verification myself, so if I can avoid inflicting it on you, then I will. But I'm also somewhat obsessive, so if my comment threads start sporting a lot of "This post has been removed by the blog administrator" comments, then I'll turn it back on.

I use to have this political web page and the comments were horrible. I was not madley in love with Mr Bushy Bush. But I can't imagin what kind of hate post you could get from a web site like this???

Hee. Seriously, though. On the other hand, that does remind me of the time I went on one of the Step it Up marches in Oregon to advocate cutting carbon 80% by 2050. We got a lot of supportive horn beeping, but we actually did get two long honks accompanied by thumbs-down.

No! DON'T CUT CARBON FOR GOD'S SAKE WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE FOSSIL FUELS!

I haven't been this excited since Christmas morning. Somebody actually listening to me. Wow! And it is SO NICE to not have to fool around with all of that crap. What's funny is that I actually got a spam comment the other day....shh, don't telll anyone. Simple delete. That's it.

The funny thing is that I got an unbelievably enormous, 1,000+ word incoherent comment the other day. *Before* I turned off word verification. So the few undesirables I do get apparently are willing to go to the trouble to squint at the word verification thingie anyway, so what's the point.

People are so stupid sometimes. I remember being in a Peace March and people were like "You mean they still havent found peace yet?"

Answer to that

No we haven't
